Man abusing hospitality staff for enforcing QR code deserves 'the weight of the law'

NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard says anyone who thinks it’s OK not to check in with a QR code, or more importantly, who attacks staff members attempting to enforce COVID-19 rules “needs to have the full weight of the law thrown at them”.

His comment comes regarding recent footage of a man smashing a McDonald’s cash register and abusing staff after being asked to check in using a QR code.

Mr Hazzard labelled the disruptive behaviour as “absolutely appalling” and expressed his confidence the police would throw the full force of the law at the perpetrator.
